Why should I stop? There are no good reasons to smoke but there are plenty of good ones to stop. In fact, estimates suggest that around 70% of current smokers want to quit the habit.
Everyone knows smoking is bad for your health
but did you know cigarettes contain over 4,000 chemicals which are harmful;
or that 22% of male and 11% of female deaths are smoking-related; or that
the average smoker spends around £31,000 on smoking over 20 years?
For smokers who want to stop, SmokeStop offers support and advice and is
the most effective way of quitting the habit.

Passive smoking
Parents who smoke should be aware their children may become ill as a result of breathing in airborne tobacco smoke. Children of smokers are more likely to take up the habit themselves because they copy the behaviour of adults and will perceive smoking as the norm if they grow up in a household where adults smoke.
The cost of smoking
Your health and the health of those close to you is just one of the reasons to think about quitting.
For example, at current prices an average 20-a-day smoker will spend over £31,000 on cigarettes over the next 20 years.
And that is if prices remain the same.
